Hello
My name is Oana and I am a registered provisional psychologist in Edmonton, Alberta. I have spent the past two decades working with people in roles focused on social work and mental health. I hold a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Australia and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, completed in 2020. My personal journey has also shaped my perspective: I grew up as a first-generation child immigrant after my family moved from Romania to Australia in the early 1990s, and in my late 20s I relocated once again—this time to Canada, where I have made Edmonton my home for the past 14 years.

In my work, I take time to get to know the full picture of who you are, so our work together feels personalized and meaningful. I'm here to support you in awakening your innate resilience and in reconnecting with the people, values, and experiences that feel most meaningful.
Heart of my work:
I have always been fascinated by human dynamics—what drives people, how we relate to one another, and the ways we can heal both ourselves and others. My particular passion lies in the field of trauma and relationships. Over the years, I have pursued formal training to deepen my understanding and to develop effective tools for working with a wide range of traumatic experiences, including childhood trauma and chronic patterns of abuse.
My work revolves around helping you:
-
Resolve trauma and symptoms of anxiety & depression through evidence based modalities
-
Reconnect with the calm, safe & grounded part of your body & familiarize yourself with your felt sense of boundaries
-
Increase your ability to navigate life's challenges & discover new found strengths and capacities
-
As a couple - explore your relationship through the power of emotions, heal patterns of disconnection & build trust
-
Delve into deeper layers of your psyche & experience enhanced meaning & wholeness
-
Uncover hidden symbols & metaphors within dreams
-
Soften inner criticism, gain acceptance, clarity & alignment with your values
