Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is a gentle, body-based therapy that helps people recover from the effects of trauma and stress. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, it’s built on decades of research into how overwhelming experiences affect both the mind and the body.
When we go through something difficult, our nervous system can get “stuck” in survival modes like fight, flight, freeze, or collapse. SE™ helps release that trapped energy so the body can find balance again. This process allows people to feel calmer, more present, and better able to handle life’s challenges.
SE™ can support healing from:
PTSD and traumatic stress
Chronic pain and tension
Early childhood and attachment wounds
Anxiety, depression, and overwhelm
Sleep or digestive problems connected to stress
What to Expect
In a session, we’ll combine gentle conversation with awareness of body sensations. Sessions may include sitting, standing, or lying down—whatever feels most comfortable. Together, we’ll notice and track how your body responds, and use techniques to help release stress and support regulation.
The pace is always slow and respectful, so your nervous system can integrate changes safely. Over time, this work can create more resilience, emotional balance, and a greater sense of ease in your body and mind.
✨ Somatic Experiencing is not about reliving the past—it’s about helping your body find safety in the present, so you can move forward with more freedom and vitality.
